Stepping out in Faith
A little back story of how we find ourselves here…when Jerry was in Haiti, this family of mine closed on a season in our lives. A season that taught us to persevere & a season that gave us clear direction as to where & how God wants us to serve! Today, we officially no longer own Joeys Cafe & Jerry is no longer the youth pastor at FBJB. Instead, God has set in motion the desires of our heart to be able to pursue full time mission work, locally & abroad.
We’re not going any where, but will be doing what we have been doing all along, working w/Global Missions Strategies, sharing the gospel in unreached nations & serving our local church, training disciples of Jesus who make disciples of Jesus…this time w/out the responsibility of a full-time restaurant 🙂
So what is this “OneFamily OneMission” all about? We find in the book of Acts 4, Luke describes the first believers as being one in heart and mind (vs 32-35) as they pursued the Great commission. The definition of commission is an instruction, command, or duty given to a person or group of people. Another one states a group of people officially charged with a particular function. As followers of Jesus Christ we were given that commission in Matthew 28:19-20 and that was to:
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”
Though prayer and His Word, in order that we may partake in this commission as one, we were led to use our home as a mission and discipleship hub, by planting a church in it to help train and disciple local believers to send out in our communities
We are so excited for what is to come & stand in awe as He continues to put circumstances & the specific people in our lives that are making this next season happen! Will you join us?
